Mini-moon Pt. 1: Japan

Japan. Probably the number one shocker was learning that public trash cans are NOT a thing. And yet, the city is SO clean!

It was incredible to watch one of the densest cities in the world operate with such high efficiency and cleanliness. As I was admiring the organized chaos of Tokyo, I kept thinking that such a society is possible only if every individual lives by and respects the same rules. It’s inevitable for me to compare my own experience living in the U.S. vs being a visitor in Japan, but REAL TALK whyyyyy is it so hard for people to use public trash cans when they’re literally on every corner!?

Between grinding our own matcha in Uji, finally trying all the viral foods I’ve been seeing on IG for YEARS in Tokyo and Osaka, being head-butted by a deer in Nara (no actually), and making a game out of trying to find trash cans, I really enjoyed wandering aimlessly through the streets of Japan with Sam. Exploring in the rain made it all the more romantic, especially among the cobblestone streets of Kyoto, even though I was complaining about being cold every 5 seconds.

Arigato gozaimasu Japan!
